Position: Managing Director (02 Years Contract)
Chamwino Arts Center (CAC) Chamwino Arts Center (CAC) is a globally recognized Non-Governmental Organization (NGO) located in Chamwino Ikulu, Dodoma – Tanzania. It is dedicated to preserving and promoting Tanzania’s cultural heritage.
CAC works to empower communities through arts, education, and sustainable development with a mission of encouraging cultural traditions as a bridge between identity, education, and a modern world. Since its establishment in 2005, CAC has been at the forefront of cultural preservation, recognized for its impactful initiatives such as the Cigogo Music Festival, youth programs, education scholarships, and community support activities.
Chamwino Arts Center (CAC), is seeking a dynamic, visionary, and results-oriented Managing Director in a contract bases for 02 years (re-newable) to lead and drive its mission of promoting, preserving Tanzania’s rich cultural heritage, and securing resources to support sustainable growth and program excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership – Lead the organization’s strategic planning, implementation, and evaluation of programs aligned with CAC’s mission.
- Resource Mobilization – Design and execute innovative fundraising strategies to secure donor funding, with a focus on cultivating partnerships with international organizations, governments, and private sector stakeholders.
- Grant Writing and Management – Lead the development of high-quality grant proposals and oversee the implementation and reporting of funded projects.
- Global Partnerships – Build and sustain collaborations with local, regional, and international partners to enhance CAC’s impact and visibility.
- Program Excellence – Oversee the implementation of core programs and ensure alignment with CAC’s mission, while maintaining the highest standards of quality and inclusivity.
- Operational Management – Ensure effective governance, financial accountability, and operational efficiency in line with international best practices.
- Advocacy and Representation – Act as CAC’s primary spokesperson, representing the organization at national and international forums to promote its mission and programs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proven experience in fundraising, grant writing, and resource mobilization.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with at least 5 years in a senior leadership position.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills in both English and Swahili.
- Proficiency in computer applications and digital tools.
- Intercultural competence and the ability to operate effectively in a multicultural environment.
- A passion for arts, culture, and community development.
